A day to mark the turn of the year
Samhain (pronounced sow-in) is the ancient Gaelic festival that closes the harvest and opens the winter. Celebrated from sunset on 31 October, it was the Celtic new year: a threshold day when the veil between worlds was thought to be thin. We honour it in the North Wales countryside with a slow day of yoga, sound-healing meditation and seasonal craft.
How the day runs
- 11:00 — Welcome and a third-eye-opening yoga practice.
- 12:00 — Lunch and crafts.
- 12:00 to 14:30 — Tarot readings, spell-jar making, herbal dream-tea blending and other seasonal rituals.
- 14:30 to 15:00 — Sound-healing meditation and closing.
Suitable for all levels, including complete beginners. Bring a mat and something warm to lie under; the hall is heated but the practice is still.
